Author, Columnist, Trainer of Teachers, and Leadership Coach – Anis Haffar was recognized by the New African magazine, London, among the “100 Most Influential Africans of 2016”.
He’s authored three books: LEADERSHIP: Reflections on Some Movers, Shakers and Thinkers (to teach Leadership Seminars at Ashesi University); MFANTSIPIM: The Makers of a Great School (to raise funds for his alma mater); and STRATEGIES for Effective Teaching & Learning which has become a required reading for teachers in some private schools. Books in the pipeline include Critical Thinking for Quality Education & Leadership. He writes a weekly column, Education Matters, published in the Daily Graphic on Mondays, with over 350 columns to his credit.
He taught with the Los Angeles Unified School District (USA) for 10 years, and coordinated a Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) program. Additionally, he taught English as Second Language (ESL) at the Dibble Adult School in California for immigrants seeking American citizenship. Through his GATE Institute in Ghana, he has designed many hands-on workshops for teachers and schools across the country, from Accra through Mamprusi district in the North East Region.

He is a Senior Lecturer, teaching Creative & Critical Thinking at Accra College of Medicine (ACM), and serves as the Chairman, Board of Governors – Tema International School (TIS); Board member: AGA School, Obuasi; Aspire School, Koforidua; member, Ghana Education Service (GES) Council; and was a member of the Expert Commission on National Vision and Plan for Tertiary Education in Ghana.
His views are sought on many TV and radio shows, including as a Special Guest on TV3 live coverage of the late UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan. The many keynote addresses include: Ashesi Stakeholder Event at Berekuso; Methodist University College International Conference on Entrepreneurship, Business and Technology (ICEBUT); Heritage Christian College Matriculation; Academic City College; Baraka Policy Institute; and as a Distinguished Guest Speaker at the African Leadership University, Mauritius.
